Hi, I’m Jennifer! I’m a Portland native, but at heart I have always been a country girl. I’ve been horse crazy ever since I was a little girl and always knew I’d one day have a cute little farm in the country. I began my love of flowers as a 17-year-old newlywed! Yes, I said 17, crazy I know! I married my high school sweetheart who was enlisted in the U.S. Army, and we moved to Colorado the next week. My first job there was working at the Fort Carson Flower Shop as a delivery driver. Handing someone a gorgeous bouquet of flowers and seeing their joy over something so simple planted my love of floral design.

My husband and I eventually ended up in Washington state where I spent more than a decade working at a leading industry magazine and trade show providing customer service, event planning and marketing. While I loved my work family, the stress and travel of my career weighed on me.

Fun Fact:

I LOVE TO TRAVEL! I was blessed with getting to travel the world in my previous career. Some of my favorite places are Australia, Italy and London.

So, I took a leap of faith and enrolled in night classes at the Floral Design Institute in Portland. And there my floral career bloomed. Soon after graduating, I took the plunge: I left my career and founded Farmhouse Floral & Gifts. Owning a small business sure isn’t easy and playing with flowers is hard work! It is my mission to provide beautiful and affordable flowers for all of life’s occasions. We choose to use locally grown flowers whenever possible and even have our own flower farm here on our 5-acre property. We currently grow a small scale of seasonal blooms through the summer months. My mama, Shawn, brings her green thumb to our farm and helps us in the fields and with events when needed. It has been a dream to be able to spend so much time with her. Family and friends mean everything to me!

2020 was a rough year for so many! So far the best part for us is we were able to invest in our future and farm with with the Floret Online Workshop. I have wanted to take this course for several years and look forward to start the course in January 2021. I look forward to seeing how this helps our little farm grow. Stay tuned!

Fun Fact: All of my children have 2-4 legs and fur! We have 2 horses (Stretch and Perfect), 2 dog (Roxy & Dally), 2 barn cats (Luna &Goose) and 6 Chickens (Luis, Dotty, Pearl, GG, Goldie & Stevie Chicks.
